The fable
This story grows from the life of my grandfather Livio. I wrote it as a fable, weaving what I know of his story with imagined scenes to tell of the return Home.
The full story is in the book.
A fragment
—Papà, andiamo o no?—Zitto.—What are you doing?—Ascolto. I am listening.—But no one is talking.—That is precisely your problem, ragazzo.
