Series of the school: Eighteen Lohan Arts
A series of the Shaolin Wahnam school, distinct from the Eighteen Hands; from it come the exercises the author chose for Doors VI, VII, IX, and XIII (Open the Window and Gaze at the Moon, The Golden Leopard Trains Its Claws, The Great Bird Spreads Its Wings, Father and Son Together).

Opening, exercise, and closing
The practices share an opening and a closing. Between them lies the exercise I have chosen for each door.
The exercises belong to different series of my school: the Eighteen Lohan Hands, the Eighteen Lohan Arts, the Eighteen Jewels, and the Sinew Metamorphosis. Gathering them here does not make them a single traditional series.
The choice, frequency and repetitions of each form are learned with the instructor. The narrative order of the doors does not prescribe the same practice for everyone, nor does it require all thirteen exercises in one session.
Common guide to the practices, in the book.
